What is the rubber product molding solution?

In the past few days, We are learning the molding process of rubber products, and I will share some introductory knowledge with you.

With the development of the rubber industry, rubber product molding technology has also gone through different development stages: molding stage, transfer stage, and injection stage.

The development core of different stages: improve the fluidity of rubber, shorten the vulcanization time, and improve the vulcanization quality.

First introduced is the molding process: excess material is placed inside the cavity to ensure cavity filling. Temperature and pressure are applied and the compound flows, filling the cavity and partially overflowing into the overflow tank.

The molding process is currently the most common rubber product manufacturing process due to its advantages of simple molds and high-cost performance.

However, due to the inherent characteristics of the process, the molding process also has certain disadvantages. For example, during molding and vulcanization, the rubber material is placed on the cavity of the mold. If the rubber material is placed in an improper position, it is easy to be short of material; the pressure of the rubber molding press is small, and it is difficult to form large-sized and complex parts. , At the same time, the flash edge of the product will be relatively thick.

In order to deal with some special occasions, transfusion technology has been developed. Some of the advantages of the transfer casting process compared to the molding process include:

● High number of cavities (no need for auxiliary tools, no glue problems)

● Economical process for high precision parts in tighter dimensional tolerances enables the production of over-molded parts (not possible with compression molding)

●Economic process for high and medium-precision parts

Ability to produce over-molded parts (not possible with compression molding)

Finally, the injection molding process is introduced. As far as the characteristics of rubber itself are concerned, injection molding has become the preferred method for molding rubber products with high precision requirements due to its unique advantages.

The injection process is to raise the temperature of the rubber material to its fluid state through the heating of the plasticizing cylinder and the stirring and shearing of the plasticizing screw, and then inject the rubber material in this state into the lock through a higher injection pressure. In the cavity of the mold (vacuum pumping), pressurize and heat to vulcanize the rubber.

Throughout the process, the three elements of time, pressure, and temperature determine the efficiency and quality of production.

First, using the rubber injection molding machine can improve product quality. By first clamping the mold and then injecting and maintaining the pressure, the pressure required for product molding can be continuously and stably transmitted, so that the product can be vulcanized under controllable pressure, temperature and time. Injection molding can improve the compactness and functionality of products (especially the functionality of shock-absorbing products).

Second, injection molding can greatly improve production efficiency. Through the plasticizing function of the injection unit, the fluidity of the rubber is greatly improved, so that it fills the mold cavity at a relatively high temperature and starts vulcanization immediately. Through reasonable parameter setting, the injection process saves more than 50% of the vulcanization time compared with the molding process.
