一. What are the defects in continuous vulcanization?
Defect Type 4: Orange peel texture and uneven gloss on the surface. The product surface is rough with an orange peel pattern,
inconsistent axial gloss, and substandard flatness of the sealing surface.
Causes: The oil-resistant NBR rubber compound has a high filler content and high system viscosity,
resulting in poor extrusion leveling. During continuous vulcanization,
microwave overheating can cause slight scorching and localized molecular chain breakdown on the NBR surface,
forming a rough surface. During high-speed continuous extrusion of long strips,
uneven die temperature prevents the rubber compound from fully leveling before rapid curing and shaping.
Simultaneously, volatile additive fumes and dust in the drying tunnel easily adhere to the surface of the long strip products,
forming pinholes and compromising overall surface molding precision.
